Academic Analytics Uses and Conduct
The Office of Institutional Research, Office of the Senior Vice President, and Office of the Vice President for Research manage access to and use of Academic Analytics data and analytical tools at Iowa State. These data may inform strategic planning in multiple areas, such as:
- Seeking funding opportunities
- Identifying collaborations and partnerships
Academic Analytics will not be used as a primary or sole source of information for any personnel actions. Iowa State uses Academic Analytics to help grow the university’s research enterprise in alignment with the Strategic Plan. The data provided by the Academics Analytics tools and reports may assist the institution in:
- Identifying relevant external funding opportunities
- Developing interdisciplinary relationships and collaborative networks
- Identifying and nominating faculty who are competitive for external honorific awards
- Informing program reviews and strategic academic planning
- Identifying current and aspirational peer departments
